Music and
Social Order

A talk by Ulkar Aghayeva

In an intimate salon in New York City, she will be giving a talk on Music and Social Order – looking into how music can foster harmony and cohesion while also fueling political upheaval. By drawing on ancient Greek and Chinese history through to modernity, Ulkar considers how, in music, the personal is political.

We will also be joined by a Renaissance lutenist and a baritone for a living-room performance before engaging in a salon style discussion.
